- 1 of 13 kids grew up in arl.va., started going to the drag races @ age 12(older brother took me along cause it was free & i had money from a paper route to pay for cokes & sandwiches) @ 14 he & i bought a 1936 ford 2dr coup /rumble seat which we restored & put a 48 flathead motor in...sold it to a guy that had to have it & purchased a 1931 chevy 2dr sedan & built it into a C/gasser....283 bored to 301 cu. in. hilborn injection, close ratio 4-speed ,olds posi rear,american torq-thrust mags, & painted the car the brightest yellow we could find....when we took it home to show mom all she could say was "it looks like a banana" & mike & i looked at each other & said that's it "Chiquita Banana " we raced that car from 1963 -1975 & had a lot of fun along the way....sold the car in 1975 to a guy who watched us build it & a year later ,unfortunately, he died in an automobile accident & his parents put the car up for sale & me being married with 2 kids & new house didn't have any $ to buy it back....where it went is still a mystery & after going to the nostalgia drag races in Bakersfield, Cali Columbus,ohio, & the last 2 years in bowling green....was told to just clone the car sooo, last oct i purchased a 1931 2dr sedan ,which i am cloning into "CHIQUITA BANANA".it is in the body shop & should be done in a couple of weeks....the chassis is ready, motor done just waiting to match up the 2 pieces.....i cannot wait.....pat munley

Been trying to make Bowling Green, can't work out the time mileage factor. Have work Manassas on Sat. nite, would be one hell of a road trip. You going to do York.

Went by to see Carol Carter the other day, man he still looks and acts young. The S&S group and alot of the timers do the ODS reunion August 23rd. Think about it, ton of fun.

JA Jack's memory is like Jack sh.. , he forgot that you had Aqualand. One of his favorites on his Southern Maryland tour.
