Someone just sent me a You Tube hook-up to the U.S. Drag Racing Team video I narrated in 1972! Never saw the end product. Just added here.

Pro Stock super stars of the day assembled as a team to race each other on a high-end circuit by Al Carpenter. Maybe my best narration ever.

Jon I was sorry to hear the news about Ken Sears. Onondaga Dragway brings back a lot of great memories for me. I was still in the service in 63 but I would love to have seen the Greek make his pass. Bill

Dave Crane, he of the cool drag racing museum in Michigan, has reported the passing of Ken Sears a member of Onondaga Dragway's founding family after a long cancer battle. This is really sad news. I worked at Onondaga beginning in 1962. One Sunday…

Jon (the voice of Drag Racing),

Thanks for you messages. With respect to Waldo's program. Naturally I'm very close to John and have gotten a bit involved. Congratulations on your recent accomplishments.

I have a great print image (4C) of a 'winners circle' shot after wiping out everybody (64 car show) at the Mickey Thompson Nationals at the beach. Floyd Lippencott Jr (read Muravez) in the car with me and all my malibu buddies, Roy Fjastad, and Pat kinne. A little fuzzy but not bad. This was a compltely non-tested brand new car when we came through the gates with a trailer load of crew members.

This was the win that really placed 'The Beachcomber' into the big league. I promptly fired Muravez (he understood...a fellow Road King) and allowed McEwen to drive the car for a few races. We were able to set the NHRA ET record at a points meet @ Carlsbad (first car officially in the 6 second bracket). McEwen and I did not get along well (we still do not speak to each other), so I threw him out and went to Dallas to win the NHRA Spring Nationals with my pal Hank Westmoreland.

Next came a well earned divorce which put me behind the wheel and on tour for 14 years.

I have no idea how to convert this image into your JPEG format. Perhaps I should trust Waldo to do this however his computer prowess is very limited.

Keep in touch and I'm happy to see all of my friends in this group!

Jon,
Sorry for the delayed response to your request to be friends and I thank you for welcoming me as your friend. I thank you for your sentiments about Ronnie. I will never get tired of hearing the wonderful things the fans have to say about their Icon and the "love of my life."
