Forgot about some of that stuff. Saw "Automatic" Al Beck at the show Sunday. Patty and I see John Girard (mailman) when we go to the outerbanks. John was instrumental in moving the light house down there. John Lyster its been about 20 yrs. He painted Pattys 64 Coupe. Leon Nester worked at Annandale Sunoco has the Autotech shop at mile post 10 on the Outerbanks. We still see Demos and Linda Georganas couple of times a year. My club number was 206. Patty and I met in the Corvette Club, I got lucky.
Those were some of the most enjoyable times of my life. Lots of drinking, partying, and fast cars.

I rememeber being at the "Pepesi Cola Plant on Seminary Road for some of those early NVCC meetings. Do you remember that guy with the Silver 69' L88 Vette who raced that friends of mine's 67 427 "Real" Cobra the night of that NVCC "Pool Party" out on then "Shirley Highway. Wow..that was something else back then. I lost track with many guys from that Club. Names like...John Lyster "Painter", John the "Mailman"..You, Diane Nash..wow!...and bunch of others. I just found my "orig: NVCC member badge..# 192 looks like a Chev. insigna on black bakelite with my name inside. I remember being at Old Dominion for the first NVCC Drag Races..and you awarding me a trophy for knocking off...12 vettes in a row in my 67' Marina Blue.."bonestock" L79. Some spotted, some I spotted, but hey I won. And I remember again you awarded me some trophy at that Army Building across the street one night for wining some nightime Road Ralley. Fun times, sorry I did not find you on Sunday. I was "reliving" Old Times with Bill Klein and bunch of old Arlington Drag Races.
Yes, it is an orange 31 coupe. I was parked behind the dj. It looks red in the shade. When the guy sent me pictures when Iwas looking at the car, half looked like the car was red, the others looked two different shades of orange. Anyway, that was me.

Unfortunately I couldn't make it Saturday night. My daughter and I went down to VCU in Richmond to see my grandson. Couldn't believe the traffic. It took 2 1/2 hours each coming and going. 95 was bumper to bumper going down and we came back via Route 1 (like in the old days when we had to tow a car down to Southside), but it still took a long time. Boy have those little towns along Route 1 grown up and have a lot of traffic lights. And, by the time we finally got back, it was late and raining so I figured it had been cancelled or, at the least, ended early.
Dickie said there was going to be an oval reunion next year. I'll be there.
Give my love to all. Nancy
On your question...I've heard of the track, live not far from location, been told the GREAT ONES had raced there... I grew up in Annandale All my experience was with Old Dominion // saw my first demolition Derby there in the 50's // Associated with
Charlie & Morris Johnson with Marc Barry in roundeeround in the 70"s // played with Scott Lunceford's race car on occassion // did see ole BO Lunceford Sunday.
Maybe see ya again this year at Henderson...
