 nt. Oct.18, 2009 will see the ODF’s… “Old Dover Farts” back at
  the track with their own “DOVER DRAG STRIP NOSTALGIA DRAGS presente
 d by Drag Racer Magazine”! Island Dragway, has graciously allowed th
 e Dover Die-hards to host an event in their Name, and already the enth
 usiasm is building. For 18 consecutive years, about the only place the
  “Dover Guys” got to be remembered, was at the annual “Reunion �
 ��held each year in Danbury, Ct. Well that’s on again, this Sept. 6�
 ��But that is more a social Car Show get-together .This time, It’s h
 ammer down….with over 40 real Dover era racers already committed, ma
 ny with their original car! It will include a Nostalgia display area a
 nd all non competing race cars and street rods are welcome. Dash Plaqu
 es,Participant decals and Trophies ,are all explained at the Nostalgia
  Drags Heading at The Forum. The legendary track, in Wingdale, N.Y. op
 erated from 1961 to 1976. Such racing “names’ like Dick Moroso, Al
  Hoffman, “Doc” Burgess, Paul Gommi, Fred Egloff, Drake Viscome, R
 ichie Shott, Bobby Lagana and scads more national event winners and re
 cord holders ,called Dover “home’ .Interest in the track and the R
 ace concept have been fueled by the recent “revival” taking place 
 at the “official” tribute website : www.doverdragstrip.com . With 
 over 420 Dover “guys” on the active forum and 27000 hits logged si
 nce it went online … Dover is back on the limelight. The site has al
 l the information about the Race & Reunion along with literally th
 ousands of photos, 12 videos to view, Memorabilia Store, history and f
 ormer racers checking in from all over the country. Bob Smith of N.E.T
 .O. is coordinating the event with former announcer Dino, who will tak
